Our Team

Fred Burke has served for over 30 years as a Financial Advisor and (retired) CPA in Athens, Tennessee. A small-town Tennessean through and through, he joined Athens Federal Community Bank in 1990, where he provided loyal service to his customers through the bank’s changes and growth into CapStar Bank.

After graduating Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, he settled in southeast Tennessee with his family and became an active member of the local community. Over the years, he has served as the president of multiple organizations including the Athens-McMinn Family YMCA, Habitat for Humanity, Athens Parks Foundation, and Springbrook Country Club. Today, you may see him wake-surfing at the lake with his daughters and granddaughters, leading a workout class at the Athens-McMinn YMCA, or cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers.

Jordan Johnston is an Athens native who is dedicated to giving back and serving her community. An alumna of McMinn County High School and Tennessee Wesleyan College, she earned a B.S. in Mathematics in 2015. Jordan began working for Fred in 2018 and became a licensed financial advisor in 2020.

Now, Jordan remains active in our community. She is an active Board Member of the McMinn County Education Foundation as well as the Treasurer for United Way of McMinn & Meigs Counties, and she previously served on the Board of the McMinn Senior Center as Treasurer. She is the current President for the Athens, TN Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Kappa and a member of the local Optimist Club.

An avid traveler, Jordan can often be found hiking and camping, enjoying the latest concert, playing with her dogs, reading a book, or simply spending time with friends and family. She is excited to continue building her career with Fred at Downtown Square Investments, providing our customers with the experience and hometown service they deserve.

Amanda Hayes Key is an Athens native and alumna of McMinn County High School. She attended University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Tennessee Wesleyan. In 2014, Amanda began working at Athens Federal where she met Fred and reignited a childhood friendship with Jordan. She held several positions (Deposit Operations Specialist, Administrative Assistant/Corporate Secretary, Loan CSR, and GL Specialist) during the last ten years as the bank grew and transitioned to CapStar and now Old National.

Giving back and serving her community are important to Amanda. She is on the Bright Beginnings Child Care Parent Board. Over the years, she has volunteered with United Way and Junior Achievement. Amanda is also an active member of North Athens Baptist Church.

In her free time, she can be found soaking in every moment with her husband and their four children. She enjoys being outdoors and hunting, a good cup of coffee, a lazy Saturday on the couch with her dogs, and simply being with family and friends. Amanda is excited to work alongside Fred and Jordan at Downtown Square Investments greeting customers with a friendly smile and providing the hometown service they deserve.
